Don't ya love public holidays... They are awesome, well they are if you don't work for yourself, like my Dad who's probably milking cows as we speak. Retire Damn it! lol.. he won't listen.
I am up with the birds today, actually I am up with the birds every day, today was meant to be a sleep-in coz of that glorious public holiday. Which we won't be having next year, as the ACT government has decided to take it off us.... I have no idea why? and i don't want to get into a political rant here, I hear enough of political agendas at work, so just been at home is something I absolutely love. Would be more awesome if i could turn off the brain and sleep, but hey I'm here waiting for hubby to get online. For those don't know we have a distant relationship - not by choice.. but that's another story.
I got Cimo to find out how many kilometers are between us.. and the enormous number is 17791.86 kilometres (sorry don't know how to convert to miles lets just say a lot). Its only 23 hours travel..lol.
So everyone has family that lives away from them, how far between your loved ones? And what does that distance represent to you? How would you symbolize this distance in a visual sense of the word? I know a few of you on here have family in various places in the world. Im researching here, i want to create an art work as the distance is really irritating me, at least by creating it keeps me sane. So you will be doing me a favour at keeping my sanity...

You are most certainly a long ways away from one another, WOW! Now to me that symbolizes true love. I am in the same province as my boyfriend, only about 2 1/2 hours away but as each day slips on by without a phone call, (and he's pretty much computer illiterate), that this is putting more miles between us.
If our relationship is indeed true love this distance will not hinder our relationship, we will not allow it to... yet I am not going to live in a one sided relationship, if that makes any sense!
I am living in the city educating myself and like most relationships we too have our own story and history. He has his business and farm so there is not a whole lot of time or communication. Who knows where this one will take us but just for tonight I am not going to sweat the small stuff!
I also have family that lives in the same city in which I reside, three grown children, two sisters with some of their families still here and thank God for the internet. We are all busy within our own lives, yet we do catch one another on the fly. An email here, a quick phone call there, msn at times... yup our world of technology has created such a lack of personal communication... progress?
Just my middle of the night thoughts, time to get to bed and sleep my three hours before I get up and head back out the door to college... I must be insane!
I love reading what you have to say, I love the realness of your blog. Thanks for sharing.
Wow that is so far to live from you loved one. I guess it is a true test of your love and from what you say that love is very strong. Keep it up. I have two grown children, my daughter lives about 2 minutes away but my son lives in Cairns and I live in Melbourne thats 2324km (1444 miles)away.
yes it's a great distance, but not great enough to bend our love, it's only making it stronger, overcoming all the obstacles we had and still having
